Privacy Policy

1. Information we handle

• Local reading data: display name, bio, avatar theme, saved stories, chapter progress, unlocked chapter references, reader theme, and text size. These items are stored in your browser or installed PWA storage.
• Reading activity: a random browser identifier, story views, chapters read, foreground reading time, chapter progress, and save or unsave actions are sent to our server. Reading starts counting after five visible seconds in the reader and pauses in the background or after two minutes without interaction. If signed in, activity can be associated with your account. These records provide reading statistics and rankings; previews and chapter preloads do not count as reads.
• Account data: a randomly generated account ID, profile details, recovery-key hash, and application session token. No phone number or SMS code is required. Your private recovery key and session token are stored in your browser and sent over HTTPS to create or restore the account. The server stores only a hash of the recovery key. Legacy account records may retain information previously supplied by the account holder.
• Wallet data: your account ID, Coin balance, and Coin transaction history. The API links verified payments, chapter purchases, and membership to your account so they can be restored using your saved account details.
• Purchase data: Coin package or Membership plan, PayPal order number, membership expiry, and payment status when browser checkout is enabled. We do not receive your full card or bank account details.
• Technical data: request time, IP address, browser or device information, and error or security logs that may be produced by our hosting and API systems.
• Support data: the information you choose to include when contacting support.

2. How we use information

We use this information to create or restore your account, provide the reader, keep your preferences, sync the server wallet, display and spend Coins, verify purchases, prevent duplicate credits or misuse, answer support requests, produce reading statistics, rank stories using recorded activity, and maintain service security.

3. Payments and service providers

When enabled, PayPal checkout is handled by PayPal and our payment backend in the browser. PayPal handles payment details under its own privacy terms and sends us the order information needed for verification. Hosting and database providers process only the data needed to operate CHH Novel.

4. Storage and retention

Local reading and profile data remains on the device until you clear it, reset the browser, or remove the site's storage. Server reading records are retained to provide statistics and reading features. Server wallet and purchase records are retained while needed to provide Coins, prevent duplicate credits, resolve payment disputes, meet tax or accounting duties, and protect the service. Security backups and legally required transaction records may remain for a limited period after a deletion request.

5. Sharing and sale

We share data only with payment, hosting, database, security, and support providers when needed for the purposes above or when required by law. CHH Novel does not sell personal information. The current H5/PWA does not include third-party advertising SDKs.

6. Your choices

You can sign out, edit your profile, or use Clear local data in Profile to remove the local profile, library, and reading progress. Signing out does not erase payment records or Coins stored on the server. To request access, correction, export, or deletion of server-side account data, contact support with your account ID. Never send your private recovery key. Save your account ID and recovery key before signing out or clearing site storage; losing both the browser data and your saved copy may prevent account recovery.

7. Children

CHH Novel is not directed to children under 13. Minors must use the service with a parent or guardian and obtain their permission before making a purchase. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Security and international processing

We use access controls, encrypted network connections, purchase verification, and reasonable operational safeguards. No online system is completely secure. Depending on where you live and where the service is hosted, information may be processed outside your country under applicable safeguards.

9. Operator, changes, and contact

CHH Novel is operated by 济南君阅文化有限公司. We may update this policy when the service, providers, or legal requirements change. Privacy questions and deletion requests can be sent to 0305@wcreader.com or raised by phone at 18030113253.
